Elisa S. Rives, graduated from Auburn University with both a Bachelors in Entomology and a Masters in Plant Pathology. After working as a Research Associate and Environmental Scientist, she returned to college and attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where she served as Writing Editor on the Cumberland Law Review and earned a Juris Doctorate graduating cum laud in 2002. During her time in law school, she completed a judicial internship with Senior U.S. Circuit Judge Edward S. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C.
After finishing a one year judicial clerkship with Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Acker in the Northern District of Alabama in Birmingham, she entered private practice in 2003 with a primary focus on civil litigation in the State of Alabama and the Federal Courts.
Elisa is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and all state courts in both Alabama and Washington state.
